Genre: Simulation Developer: Lionhead Studios Publisher: Activision Release Date: November 8, 2005 Widescreen Support: Native resolutions supported with registry edit. However, FOV is not adjusted, so you will lose information at the top and bottom of the image, as they are chopped off to fit a 4:3 image onto a 16:10 display. You can zoom out to adjust, and make full use of the widescreen resolution.
- After installing the game, run it once to create the registry entries.
- Run Windows RegEdit
- Browse to the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lionhead Studios Ltd\TheMovies
- In the right side of the RegEdit window, several keywords are listed. Find the two called "GD: Screen Width" and "GD: Screen Height"
- Double click these, one at a time, and edit to whatever suits your needs. For example, on a Dell 2005FPW, you would set GD: Screen Width to 1680 and GD: Screen Height to 1050
- Close RegEdit. The next time you start the game, it will play in your desired resolution
- FOV is not adjusted, so you will lose information at the top and bottom of the image, as they are chopped off to fit a 4:3 image onto a 16:10 display. You can zoom out to adjust, and make full use of the widescreen resolution.

Written by neo on 2006-02-09 00:10:18 The first time I tried this, I got a "DirectX is not installed" error! However I didn't notice at first that the listings in my registry were backwards from how you usually list resolutions. Instead of "1680x1050" it is listed like this: GD: Screen Height GD: Screen Width Height is first! So enter 1050 first, then 1680 :) |
